FINAL DAY: IRELAND’S TOP INVESTOR IS CROWNED!

Each of our winners chose to donate their winnings to very worthy charities and the money will be making its way over to those causes very soon.

 

For the rest of you, we really hope you enjoyed the competition and the fun distraction it provided, along with, hopefully, a small education on the volatility of investing! Part of the fun was seeing how everyone got on and the full table is below. Also, we thought it would be useful to provide some interesting facts on our investors and the underlying funds:

 

Fun Facts:

• The average return for our investors was 1.34% (which isn’t bad in times like these)
• Women outperformed men by approximately 0.1%
• The most successful age-group were our 55-65’s who averaged 1.6%. It seems age does count for something!
• There was no material difference in performance depending on the level of research you did. Those who picked off the top of their heads did just as well as investors who put in the time to research.

• The winning portfolio contained 25% in each of; Ireland, Millennium, Germany and Robotics, so it was always going to be hard to beat!
